Well, I wanted to use the bread machine again.. so I pulled out that book and found a recipe for.. "Yorkshire Teacakes." I thought they looked like bagels without holes.. whatever, I decided to make them. Mom said they're like scones. She tried one, so did both of my brothers and everybody says they have much more flavor than the other things I bake.. hmm..
Well I fiddled around with the recipe, so here's what I did!
1 1/4 cups chai flavored soy milk
2 cups AP flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup raisins
3 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dry active yeast
Into the bread machine for some kneading and rising, then into balls for more rising, then in the oven for 15 minutes at 400ยบ. Yummy!
Not a fantastic shot.. oh yeah.. and the little brother in the background.
Adventures of a veg*n.

That's funny, I was just thinking to myself, that is a really cool picture, then saw your comment. I still think that's a cool picture- and what an intriguing recipe.
ya, I really like that shot too!
I love how you used Chai soy milk--what a great idea to get some quick flavor.
Ooh, those look good. Chai soy milk--divine...
I'm always looking for new ways to use the bread machine, I'll have to try something like this out.
Your blog looks really great, we have a lot in common. I'm also a crafty vegan saxophone player. As far as the lunches go, they're a mixture of homemade and storebought stuff, but I throw them all together myself.
you gave me a laugh with "everybody says they have much more flavor than the other things I bake.. hmm.." how fun to have a bread machine - i've always wanted one, but was afraid I'd eat too much bread - I could do that easily, especially looking at what you made!
